Matresa brings a hands-on, grounded approach to herbalism, working with herbs, teas, and plant practices while exploring how the cycles of nature mirror our emotional and mental rhythms. This gentle, experiential gathering will introduce herbalism, its connections to justice work and ancestry, and invite participants to try a variety of herbal teas. The Healing Hub is a shared offering from Sharon Groves at the Festival Center and Richael Faithful at House of Kindred, centering those most impacted by systemic harm while building relationships across communities.

About: A three-day training designed to support anti-oppressive management and leadership practices. “Supervision for Liberation” offers tools for supervisors, managers, and organizational leaders seeking to align their workplace practices with values of equity and justice. Through interactive learning, participants will explore how supervision can be a site of transformation—strengthening relationships, accountability, and collective liberation within organizations. Through revisiting key scriptural moments of reproductive decision-making, the series invites participants to consider how spiritual traditions can hold complexity, autonomy, and care. With a focus on finding the sacred within lived experience, these teachings offer space for reflection, conversation, and reimagining how faith communities engage questions of body, choice, and justice. Rev. McEvoy’s work has been featured in The Christian CitizenSojourners, and The Washington Post, and her forthcoming memoir, Finding Sanctuary, will be published in 2027.

Event: Offering Hospitality to the Homeless

About: A weekly mutual aid opportunity to serve alongside the Radcliffe Room, a longstanding ministry supporting neighbors experiencing homelessness. Volunteers help prepare and serve food, distribute clothing, and build relationships with approximately 150 guests. Volunteers arrive at 7:30 AM to set up, with service running from 8:15–9:30 AM. Early mornings are balanced with strong coffee, meaningful work, and a welcoming community.

About: This workshop invites participants into a reflective and relational space focused on cultivating balance through connection—with ourselves and with others. Drawing on somatic practices and community-centered dialogue, the session explores how grounding, presence, and intentional connection can support resilience in times of stress and uncertainty. Participants will leave with practical tools for staying rooted while navigating personal and collective challenges.

 

The Festival Center will be closed to the public on Tuesday, February 11th, and Wednesday, February 12th due to inclement weather. We will resume regular operations on Thursday, February 13th.
