The Festival Center awarded $300,000 grant

The Festival Center has been awarded a $300,000 grant from the District of Columbia’s Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED). The Small Medium Business Growth Fund grant is a partnership between the Bowser administration and DMPED, investing $5.4 million to retain and expand district-based small businesses by supporting large scale capital improvements, large equipment purchasing, and technological advancements within retail, professional services, industrial-based businesses and manufacturing industries.

This grant award supports the Festival Center’s $4.5 million building renovation which will open on March 10th, 2023.

The Festival Center’s renovated building includes 27 rentable office spaces (shared and suite style), 16 workspace desks, a 1,540 square foot Community Room, a 500 square foot commercial training Kitchen, a 500 square foot conference room, an 800 square foot co-working space, and 30 parking spaces.
