They’re baaaaack
RSVP
Hosted by: Free DC
About: After the longest government shutdown in U.S. history, Congress has returned — and immediately restarted its attacks on DC. Two bills targeting DC are scheduled for a House vote next week, with four more expected soon. These include attempts to reinstate cash bail, reverse police reforms, eliminate DC’s elected Attorney General, increase mandatory minimums, overturn key sentencing reforms, ban automated traffic enforcement, and criminalize homelessness. These measures threaten DC Home Rule and put our communities at greater risk. Tell Congress to oppose these attacks on DC.

DC Needs a Hearing on MPD Cooperation with Federal Forces
Take action
Hosted by: Free DC
About: DC residents have witnessed a disturbing rise in cooperation between the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) and federal agents carrying out unconstitutional and racially motivated arrests. MPD officers have reportedly stood by — or even assisted — during these federal operations, raising urgent questions about accountability and transparency.
Call to Action: Free DC and over 25 allied organizations are demanding that Councilmember Brooke Pinto, Chair of the DC Council’s Judiciary and Public Safety Committee, hold an immediate public hearing on MPD’s cooperation with federal forces.
Event: FLARE Weekly Actions (Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays)
Location: Various sites across DC (Congress, Heritage Foundation, Fox News)
Hosted by: FLARE / The Flood / Removal Coalition
About: A series of weekly actions supporting a 24/7 occupation to confront authoritarianism and apply sustained public pressure on Congress, the Heritage Foundation, and Fox News. These actions aim to expose disinformation, resist Project 2025, hold elected officials accountable, and mobilize national solidarity.

EVERY NIGHT UNDER OCCUPATION

At 7:00 PM for 5 minutes
Get Loud: DC Noise Action
Location: Across DC and the DMV (wherever you are)
About: Every night at 7 PM, stop what you’re doing, go outside, and bang pots and pans for five minutes as a peaceful cacerolazo to resist the occupation and affirm DC’s freedom. From France to Latin America to Puerto Rico and now DC, this joyful noise is a time-tested tactic of nonviolent protest.

EVERY SATURDAY

Boycott Target DMV Picket
Location: 14th Street Target (Washington, DC)

About: Local activists with Boycott Target DMV hold weekly Saturday pickets outside the 14th Street Target to protest corporate exploitation and community harm. The ongoing action is supported by Shut Down DC and encourages participants to show up, raise awareness, and stand in solidarity—especially during extreme heat, when mutual care and safety are prioritized.

FOR DC ALLIES

Tell Congress to Stand Down Federal Escalation and Respect DC
Location: Virtual (nationwide action)
Hosted by: Free DC
About: DC residents have no voting representation in Congress, leaving our communities vulnerable to federal overreach. Allies across the country are urged to demand that Congress stop escalating federal forces in DC, end interference in our local budget and laws, and pass H.R. 51, the Washington DC Admissions Act. Send a letter to your members of Congress to stand in solidarity with DC communities now and in the future.
