Joe Ward is a visual artist who blends virtual and traditional creative tools to make drawings, paintings and digital art. In addition to art making, Joe’s practice includes research, writing and outreach for the Souls of A Nation arts advocacy exhibition. 

Joe attended the George Washington University in Washington D.C. where he received his BFA in design, and the New York Studio School in New York City where he received his MFA in painting. Joe is a communications leader and has worked for over a decade alongside social justice movements to advance racial justice, LGBTQ justice and equality, and to promote state-based moral public policy agendas that respond to the urgent needs of the poor. 

Joe’s work has been featured at the Brooklyn Museum, NYSS Gallery, Black Art Sessions [B.A.S.] Gallery and the Festival Center Community Gallery.
