Dawn Longenecker has served The Festival Center since 2007. She started her tenure at the Festival Center as Discipleship Year Program director and now serves as Director of Administration. Dawn  Grew up Mennonite with pastor parents, who moved around the country when she grew up. She attended Eastern Mennonite College and received undergraduate degree in social work in 1980. Dawn served as a social worker and in Voluntary Service programs in DC throughout her career. She was a member of Sojourners community early on, was a member of Church of the Saviour for awhile. Now she attend Hyattsville Mennonite Church. Dawn is married with two grown children, a grandson and another on the way.

What is your favorite thing about the Festival Center? 

My favorite thing about the Festival Center is the way in which so many various groups committed to Justice and Community come together to continue bringing about the ‘Kindom’ (no – not kingdom), which means:  The full diversity and relationship of all of Gods children.   

What do you do for fun? 

I enjoy getting together with friends and family. 

Do you have any pets? 

I have one dog, Yoda, and a cat, Tonks.
