The Festival Center’s commitment to electrification and energy efficiency aligns with the D.C. Council’s decision to phase out the use of fossil fuels in new buildings, starting in 2026. Recognizing the wide-ranging benefits of electrification, including economic, health, and environmental advantages, the Council is currently contemplating legislation to support the electrification of 30,000 low-income households.
