Daniel was brought to D.C. in 2015 from California by stories of the Festival Center and the communities surrounding it. A graduate student at NAIITS: An Indigenous Learning Community working towards an M.A. in Indigenous Community Development, they have spent the last few years working towards justice and reconciliation between Indigenous communities and the Christian communities that bear a legacy of colonization and violence towards the original peoples of the United States. With a background in community development, they spend their time cultivating community through the painful and joyful moments that come with that work.
