Confronting Racism in the Church

We're thankful to teacher, author, and activist, Dr. Drew Hart, for a provocative and engaging training on July 22.  If you missed it, look out for a follow class with Soteria Community School to strengthen the work of confronting racism in the church.

In his provocative book Troube I've Seen: Changing the Way the Church Views Racism, theologian and blogger Drew G. I. Hart places police brutality, mass incarceration, antiblack stereotypes, poverty, and everyday acts of racism within the larger framework of white supremacy.

Drew Hart is a professor in theology, an author, and an activist with ten years of pastoral experience. His undergraduate work was in biblical studies at Messiah College, he received his Masters of Divinity degree with an urban concentration at Biblical Seminary, and he defended his dissertation in the field of theology and ethics at Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. Currently he is an assistant professor in theology at Messiah College.
